Egypt’s Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab approved Monday the new board of the country’s telecom regulator, the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA). The new board will be presided by Egypt’s telecommunication minister Khaled Negm
The new board consists of Hesham El Alaily- Executive President of NTRA; Wael Saeed Shalaby- representative of the Council of State; and Mohamed Nabel El Maadawy Youssef Aly- Representative of Ministry of Defense.
The board also includes Amr Badawi, as representative of Ministry of Finance and the Presidency; Mohamed Farouk Ibrahim Hassan, from Administrative Control Authority; Reda Faraht, Ministry of Interior representative; and Essam El Amir, Radio and Television Union representative.
NTRA’s new board also contains three public figures, appointed by decree from Egypt’s telecommunication minister.
In Egypt, the term of office of NTRA’s board of directors expires every two years.
