Egypt is one of the most rapidly growing markets in adopting new technologies, China-based Oppo Electronics’ deputy executive director Sky Lee said in an interview with Amwal Al Ghad.
Lee expected that Egypt would witness a100% growth rate in using smartphones among citizens within the current year, representing a golden opportunity and motivation for any smart phone manufacturers, and notably for Oppo to build a strong presence there.
Ahead of taking decision to enter the Egyptian market, Oppo had conducted multiple studies which showed that Egyptians are more concerned about the quality of the camera attached to the smartphone alongside the outer appearance, Lee noted. That is why Oppo has launched four models of smartphones in the Egyptian market, including N3 that features a rotating camera, in addition to the world’s super slim smartphone R5.
Furthermore, Lee noted that Oppo is seeking to become one of the top mobile providers in Egypt within two years maximum. He added that Oppo intends to establish post-sales services centre in Egypt in line with starting its actual presence there.
Oppo’s official has also referred that the company would even build a factory in Egypt if it manages to achieve satisfying sales rates.
