Egypt’s MCIT minister announces e-commerce national strategy at Cairo ICT 2017

Egypt’s Minister of Communication and Information Technology Yasser El Kady declared a national strategy for E-commerce, in cooperation with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade.

The minister has made this announcement at the 21st  edition of Cairo ICT 2017 stressing that it is an important step toward sustainable development and enhancing the digital economy.

on the other hand, Kady  announced the launch of a technological innovative initiative, which will witness establishing technology complexes in different governorates, with the aim of promoting information technology in Egypt.

In coordination with the Ministry of Interior and the United Nations, Egypt also  launched the electronic visa service, which will allow visitors to obtain their visas online.

Earlier Sunday, Sisi inaugurated the events of the 21st edition of Cairo ICT 2017 Conference, which will run from December 3 to 6.
