Egypt’s MCIT & UNESCO To Hold Workshop To Activate Arab Content

The Egyptian Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MCIT) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) are planning to organize a workshop seeking to activate the Arab e-Content and developing e-content industry in these areas.

Eng. Atef Helmy, Egypt’s Information and Communication Technology ICT Minister, has welcomed on Wednesday the UNESCO Director-General, Irina Bokova ,who is currently visiting Egypt.

Moreover,  during the meeting the Minister and Bokova have discussed the cooperation with UNESCO a long with a number of issues in ICT field, notably: how to enhance the innovation and knowledge society in Egypt, support the public awareness, activate the digital Arab e-content project , which is one of the most important projects to document and link the Arab heritage and publish it on the internet so as to be available for all groups and individuals in the Arab world.

The minister has reviewed many successful projects which have launched by MCIT in cooperation with a number of local firms such as Kenana online one of the most Egyptian program projects for developing by using ICT.
