Egypt’s banks extended more loans in June than in the previous month, recording 1.41 trillion Egyptian pounds ($79.8 billion), a central bank recent report showed on Thursday.
In May, loans stood at 1.39 trillion pounds.
The total amounts of loans provided to the government reached 354.723 billion pounds at the end of June, including 142.710 billion pounds in local currency and 212.013 billion pounds in foreign currencies, the report added.
On the other hand, total non-government loans increased to nearly 1.063 trillion pounds in June, including 716.85 billion in local currency and 346.8 billion pounds in foreign currencies, the report added.
