ICT minister receives INSPUR officials in Egypt

Minister of Communications, Yasser ElKady, has received the officials of Inspur, a global Chinese company specialized in various fields of technology to discuss Inspur’s business plan which aims to expand its investments in the region.

Inspur selected Egypt to be its main business center in the Middle East, since the Egyptian market has several positive factors, in addition to the support that the state is keen to provide to attract specialized international companies to the country.

During the meeting, ElKady asserted that Egypt is an attractive market of investment, and it exerts great efforts to attract more international investments for the ICT sector.

El-Kady hailed the strategic relationship between Egypt and China in most areas, especially ICTs and electronics industry.

He also stated that a number of Chinese companies will start up electronics manufacturing business in Egypt soon.

In the same context, Asmaa Hosni, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA),  held a meeting with Inspur representatives.

During the meeting, the representative reviewed their company’s latest projects and operating systems, relating to cloud computing, big data and digital media that serve many sectors, such as government services and finance, education and communications sectors around the world.

The discussion tackled aspects of cooperation aiming to establish an electronics factory in Egypt and develop smart government services, including the establishment of a government data center, due to be established in Borg Al Arab Technology Park.

Inspur officials emphasized their company’s wish to invest in Egypt, and benefit from the Egyptian government benefits and incentives, which represent a supportive environment for investment.

The company aims— after completing the necessary technical studies with ITIDA- to include other large projects including informatics infrastructure, research and development, transfer of technology and knowledge and training of calibers to serve the markets of Africa and the Middle East. This is in addition to manufacturing computers and servers and providing cloud computing solutions.

Inspur operates in the areas of software, cloud computing, servers and computers manufacturing, technological infrastructure development, big data centers. It has business in 85 countries around the world and has 26 offices in China and abroad, in addition to research and development centers.
