Egypt’s Govt Calls For Community Dialogue On IMF Loan

A reliable government source asserted that the government has postponed the call of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation,  in order to resume negotiations around the $4.8 billion loan that Egypt is supposed to get,  till ending the discussions with political and civil powers on the political arena.
The source added that a broad community discussion about the loan will be launched within weeks under the leadership the minister of planning and international cooperation and the prime minister. A number of officials in the ministry of finance and the central bank will participate in the dialogue.
The Minister of Finance Momtaz al-Saieed said the talks between the IMF and the government haven’t been suspended; referring to the continuity of exchanging data, information, and updated statistics around the developments of indicators and economy performance.
Hany Kadry, assistant to the minister of finance, said the discussion aims at  presenting some policies and procedures to resolve the current financial and economic problems.  
He added that the discussion seeks finding solutions for decreasing the budget deficit, interior and exterior debt, and providing financial surplus to fund the growing government investments.
