The Egyptian Minister of Finance El-Morsi El-Sayed Hegazy will travel to Washington tomorrow to participate in the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group which will be held during April 19-21.
The Minister stated that the Egyptian delegation, which will be participating in the meetings, will resume discussions with IMF’s team over the US$ 4.8 billion loan after the Fund’s technical mission has recently ended discussions in Cairo.
IMF mission Chief Andreas Bauer said in a statement that the mission made progress in the discussions with the Egyptian authorities on their economic program and possible financial support from the IMF.
The Minister revealed that the annual meetings of IMF and World Bank will tackle a number of key issues such as announcing IMF reports including world economic outlook.
