Egypt’s stock market rallied for the second day during this week posting midday gains of EGP 2.5 billion on Monday. The benchmark maintained its upward trend to cross 5610 pts.
The Egyptian Exchange’s indices were wavering in green notes during the midday session of Monday.
Benchmark EGX30 climbed by 1.60% to 5619.06 p; while EGX20 surged by 1.53% to 6512.85 p.
On the other hand, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 inched up by 0.46% to 436.87 p. Price index EGX100 increased by 0.65% to 748.35 p.
The capital market has reached EGP 366.613 billion during the midday session of Monday, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English at 12:20 p.m. Cairo time (10:20 GMT).
Trading Volumes & Values
The trading volume has recorded 86.468 million securities worth EGP 238.831 million, exchanged through 10.035 thousand transactions during Monday midday.
Investors’ Activity
Egyptian and Arab investors have backed EGX’s midday gains as they were net buyers seizing 73.59% and 11.31% respectively, of the total market, with net equities of EGP 22.529 million and EGP 524.040 thousand, excluding the deals.
Meanwhile, the non-Arab foreigners were net sellers seizing 15.1% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 23.053 million, excluding the deals.
