Egypt’s Bourse ends in red with humble losses

Egypt’s bourse incurred losses estimated at 433 million Egyptian pounds (US$53.9 million).

The market capitalisation hit 448.577 billion pounds during the closing session of Tuesday.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 declined 0.02 percent to 7432.96 points.

The newly-launched EGX50 EWI index went down by 0.05 percent to 1250.21 points.

EGX20 dropped 0.19 percent to 7147.31 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 slumped by 0.44 percent to 389.46 points. The price index, EGX100 decreased by 0.24 percent to 842.81 points.

Turnovers low

On Tuesday, the bourse’s trading volume has reached 190.880 million securities, with turnovers closed at EGP 746.118 million, exchanged through 13,950 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 173 listed securities have been traded in; 68 declined, 43 advanced; while 52 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Arab and Non-Arab investors were net buyers on Tuesday getting 5.08% and 9.14% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 11.110 million and EGP 20.491 million, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, the Egyptian investors were net sellers seizing 85.79% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 31.602 million, excluding the deals.
