Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said all banks will be closed from Sunday 24 May to Thursday 28 May during Eid, Ahram Online reported on Tuesday.
According to a statements, banks will back to work as of Sunday 31 May.
Egypt’s Cabinet has approved a five-day paid holiday during Eid which starts as of next Sunday.
Eid holiday is customarily three days long, yet, it will be extended this year to five days from 24 to 28 May.
On Sunday Egypt’s Cabinet announced stricter measures that will be applied during Eid, including extending the curfew hours, to reduce crowding during the religious occasion which is associated with family gatherings at public places.
All shops, malls, beaches and parks will be entirely closed, public transportation will be suspended throughout the six-day period, which runs until Friday 29 May.
