Hassan El Shafie, Chairman of the Egypt-Romania Business Council, affirmed that the Egyptian investments volume in Romania will exceed $ 100 million by the end of 2012.
El Shafie told “Amwal Al Ghad” that the Egyptian investments in Romania represent in the fields of construction and housing, tractors factories, and rice paddy.
The volume of Romanian investments in Egypt, in partnership with the Egyptian side, reached $ 30 million in 2012; these investments comprise chemicals, fertilizers and pesticides.
With regard to the volume of the trade exchange between the two countries, El Shafie said it reached $ 420 million for the interest of Romania, which its exports to Egypt amounted to $290 million, in return for $ 130 million Egyptian exports to Romania.
