The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) had on Monday’s midday posted humble gains of EGP 50 million as the capital market has reached EGP 333.521 billion at 10:36 GMT (12:36 pm local time).
The main index, EGX30 inched higher 0.11% to hit 4630.81 p. EGX20 shed 0.31% to reach 5270.75 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 edged up 0.02% to hit 403.08 p. Price index EGX100 sagged 0.51% to reach 719.51 p.
Traded volume reached 20.227 million securities worth EGP 60.984 million, exchanged through 4.750 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 115 listed securities; 33 declined and 63 advanced while 19 keeping their previous levels.
Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers seizing 68.63% and 8.04% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 4.236 million and EGP 11.451 million excluding the deals.
On the other hand, non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 23.33% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 5.682 million excluding the deals.
EGX’s leading shares witnessed unsteady performance. Shares owned by Commercial International Bank- Egypt (COMI.CA) went up by 1.44% to hit EGP 24.74. Shares of Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) witnessed no change hitting EGP 1.29.
Leading EGX’s downwards, shares owned by EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) sagged 0.82% reaching EGP 10.92. shares of Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) inched lower 0.33% reaching EGP 3.05. Shares of Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) shed 0.12% hitting EGP 253.50.
