Egyptian Exchange Loses EGP 4.7 Bln On Midday

On Sunday’s midday session, the EGX lost EGP 4.71 billion as the capital market has reached EGP 343.779 billion by 10:49 GMT (12:49 pm in Cairo).

The main index, EGX30 sank 2.21% to reach 4782.18 p. EGX20 inched lower 2.27% to hit 5497.14 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 sagged 0.86% to hit 416.23 p. Price index EGX100 went down 1.17% to reach 762.1 p.

Traded volume reached 22.835 million securities worth EGP 135.419 million, exchanged through 6.777 thousand transactions.

This was after trading in 139 listed securities; 107 declined and 16 advanced while 16 keeping their previous levels.

Egyptians were net sellers seizing 94.86% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 6.908 million, excluding the deals.

On the other hand, non-Arab Foreigners and Arabs were net buyers seizing 4.84% and 0.3% respectively, of the total market with a net equity of EGP 3.323 million and EGP 3.585 million, excluding the deals.

EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective downwards led by EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) which dived 5.12% to reach EGP 11.13.  Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) sank 3.18% to hit EGP 3.04. Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) fell 2.87% to reach EGP 267.99.   Additionally, Commercial International Bank- Egypt (COMI.CA) went down 2.39% to reach EGP 24.93. Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) edged down 2.22% to conclude at EGP 1.32.
