The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) had on Sunday’s closing posted losses of EGP 1.35 billion as the capital market has reached EGP 324.712 billion.
The main index, EGX30 tumbled 0.39% to close at 4471.83 p. EGX20 shed 0.36% to end at 5050.28 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 went down 0.06% to conclude at 397.34 p. Price index EGX100 edged down 0.35% to finish at 696.6 p.
Traded volume reached 26.417 million securities worth EGP 81.018 million, exchanged through 7.054 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 147 listed securities; 68 declined and 50 advanced while 29 keeping their previous levels.
Egyptians and non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 96.51% and 3.05% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 1.053 million and EGP 1.702 million excluding the deals.
On the other hand, Arabs were net buyers seizing 0.44% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 2.755 million excluding the deals.
EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective downwards led by the shares owned by Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) sank 1.35% reaching EGP 2.92. EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) tumbled 0.85% reaching EGP 10.54. Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) also edged down 0.81% reaching EGP 1.22.
Shares of Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) inched lower 0.43% hitting EGP 248. Shares of Commercial International Bank- Egypt (COMI.CA) went down 0.29% hitting EGP 24.22.
