Egyptian Banking Institute Holds Workshop On Governance Rules Today

The Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI) holds today a training workshop for members of board of directors of a number of banks on the governance rules which were approved by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), as part of EBI’s role in training the banking sector’s employees on the latest governance rules as well as Basel II standards.

The trainees are from seven banks such as the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), Banque Misr and Banque Du Caire. The governance unit at the Institute holds training programs on the latest governance rules and Basel II standards, said Ahmed Shoukry, an official at the unit.

Dr. Ashraf Gama El-Din said the governance rules approved by CBE in the last period are related to the boards of directors, stressing on the importance of adding new governance rules about the bank’s different sectors.
