Egypt will allow up to 0.05pct ergot in wheat starting Tuesday

Egypt will allow up to 0.05 percent ergot, a common grains fungus, in wheat shipments beginning on Tuesday, a decree printed in the state gazette said on Monday.

Egypt’s agriculture quarantine authority had previously rejected wheat shipments with trace levels of ergot, a move that has led to low turnout at Egypt’s state wheat tenders.
