Egypt to host the 40th Conference of the African Insurance Organization (AIO) in May 2013, as Amwal Al Ghad had earlier reported exclusively.
Abdel Raouf Kotb, chairman of Insurance Federation of Egypt, submitted a bid to host the conference next year when he attended the 4-day 39th Conference held in Khartoum that ended today.
Kotb also made a presentation about the Egyptian insurance market and Egypt during the sessions of the executive committees and the general assembly of the conference.
It was agreed unanimously that Egypt will host the next session of the Conference from May 26th to May 29th 2013 under the slogan of “the role of insurance industry in supporting and developing economic growth in African countries”.
It is worth mentioning that there are 326 members in the AIO who are representatives of insurance companies, reinsurance companies, brokerages unions and companies of 25 African, Asian and European countries.
