Stocks rose Tuesday posting gains worth 1,5 billion Egyptian pounds (US$191,5 million) backed by local and non-Arab foreign investors’ buying appetite.
The market capitalization has reached 491,751 billion pounds during the closing session of Tuesday.
Indices
Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 hiked 0.68 percent to 8083.18 points.
Newly-launched EGX50 EWI index increased 0.42 percent to 1436.3 points.
EGX20 grew 0.60 percent to 8086.6 points.
In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 edged higher 0.22 percent to 452.44 points. The price index, EGX100 went up 0.43 percent to 940.23 points.
Weak Turnovers
On Tuesday, the bourse’s trading volume has reached 138,208 million securities, with turnovers closed at 471,579 million, exchanged through 17,379 thousand transactions.
Also during the closing session, 169 listed securities have been traded in; 57 declined, 76 advanced; while 33 kept their previous levels.
Investors’ Activities
Local and non-Arab foreign investors were net buyers Tuesday capturing 70.89% and 21.32% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of 2,542 million and 7,591 million pound, respectively, excluding the deals.
On the contrary, Arab investors were net sellers seizing 7.78% of the total market, with a net equity of 10,133 million pounds, excluding the deals.
