Egypt’s stock market edged lower Thursday with losses estimated at 399 million Egyptian pounds (US$ 50.9 million) on Arab and non-Arab sells off.
The market capitalisation has recorded 421.650 billion pounds during the closing session of Thursday.
Indices
Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 increased by 0.13 percent to 6637.91 points.
EGX50 EWI index went down by 0.65 percent to 1128.97 points.
EGX20 declined by 0.45 percent to 6543.97 points.
In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 decreased by percent 0.90 to 361.4 points. The price index, EGX100 sagged 0.32 by percent 762.6 points.
Turnovers low
On Thursday, the bourse’s trading volume has 149.140 million securities, with turnovers closed at EGP 410.438 million, exchanged through 15,296 thousand transactions.
Also during the closing session, 166 listed securities have been traded in; 92 declined, 32 advanced; while 36 kept their previous levels.
Investors’ Activities
Arab and foreign investors were net sellers on Thursday getting 2.99 % and 12.42 % respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 6.312 million and EGP 14.675 million, respectively, excluding the deals.
On the contrary, the Egyptian investors were net buyers seizing 84.59 % of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 20.988 million, excluding the deals.
