Egypt’s stocks concluded higher Monday registering gains worth 4.6 billion Egyptian pounds (US$572.7 million) backed by local and Arab investors’ buying appetite.
The market capitalization has reached 457.686 billion pounds during the closing session of Monday.
Indices
Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 climbed 1.11 percent to 7621.57 points.
EGX50 EWI index also inched higher 1.82 percent to 1282.37 points
EGX20 rose 1.87 percent to 7369.48 points.
In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 surged 1.71 percent to 401.27 points. The price index, EGX100 grew1.19 percent to 860.39 points
Turnovers higher
On Monday, the bourse’s trading volume has hit 196.042 million securities, with turnovers closed at 1.304 billion, exchanged through 20,824 thousand transactions.
Also during the closing session, 170 listed securities have been traded in; 23 declined, 116 advanced; while 23 kept their previous levels.
Investors’ Activities
Local and Arab investors were net buyers Monday capturing 89.09 percent and 6.6 percent respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of 25.955 million pounds and 7.215 million pounds, respectively, excluding the deals.
On the contrary, the non-Arab foreign investors were net sellers getting 4.31 percent of the total market, with a net equity of 33.170 million pounds, excluding the deals.
