Egypt’s stock market closed Monday with gains worth 226 million Egyptian pounds (US$28.8 million) backed by Arab investors’ buying appetite.
The market capitalisation recorded 398.572 billion pounds during the closing session of Monday.
Indices
Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 inched up 0.79 percent to 6174.77 points.
The EGX50 EWI index tumbled 0.21 percent to 1098.63 points.
EGX20 increased 0.13 percent to 6148.09 points.
In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 boosted 0.08 percent to 352.53 points. The price index, EGX100 grew 0.10 percent to 710.01 points.
Turnovers go higher
On Monday, the bourse’s trading volume has hit 248.205 million securities, with turnovers closed at 1.921 billion pounds, exchanged through 20,461 thousand transactions.
Also during the closing session, 173 listed securities have been traded in; 82 declined, 36 advanced; while 46 kept their previous levels.
Investors’ Activities
Arab investors were net buyers Monday capturing 3.85 percent of the total market, with a net equity of 15.132 million pounds, excluding the deals.
On the contrary, local and non-Arab investors were net sellers getting 94.33 percent and 1.82 percent respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of 6.965 million pounds and 8.166 million pounds, respectively, excluding the deals.
