Egypt Signs Hosting Global IT Events Accord

Eng. Atef Helmy, Egyptian Minister of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has attended the signing ceremony for International Telecommunication Union (ITU)’s ‘Host Country’ agreements in Geneva. This comes in the light of making Egypt host World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC) which is taking place in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt from 31 March to 11 April 2014.

The singing comes with the participation of the Minister in the meetings of (ITU), which is organized annually by the Union, as the union will revise ICT’s policies, issues, strategies and financial affairs of the Union.

It is worth mentioning that Egypt participates annually in the meetings of ITU, it is expected that the number of participants in (WTDC) and World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) outcome will reach 3000 including ICT  and internet Industries leaderships at political , technical and business sectors levels after 10 years, these events are asserting Egypt’s role in drawing global policies of ICT sector.
