Egypt Shares Open Lower Incurring EGP377mn Losses

Egypt’s stocks opened lower incurring early losses worth EGP377 million amid local and Arab investors’ selling on Monday opening.

Indices

The Benchmark EGX30 dived by 0.03 % to 9449 p, and EGX20 pushed down by 0.02% to 11345p.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 surged by 0.19% to 661p.  Price index EGX100 went up by 0.06% to 1170.7 p.

Furthermore, market capitalization reached EGP 523.502 billion.

Trading Volumes & Values

The trading volume has recorded 16.7million securities worth EGP 47.8 million, exchanged through 2.3 thousand transactions during Monday opening.

Also during the opening session, 91 listed securities have been traded in; 29 fell, 29 advanced; while 32 keeping their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at early trade on Monday with a net equity of EGP 422 and 447 thousands but the Egyptian investor transactions buyers are EGP869 thousands.
