Eng. Mahmoud Hany, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stressed on the importance of achieving integration among African countries in the field of communications and information technology, in order to face the challenges of the coming period.
In his speech during the conference attended by the African Ministers of Communications and Information Technology, held in Sudan, he added that Egypt seeks to establish cooperation with Nile Basin countries concerning building a strong information society, with connected services, in order to achieve economic and social development and avoid all risks.
Eng. Mahmoud Hany, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, has held a number of meetings and bilateral talks with Issa Bashary, Minister of Science and Technology in Sudan, and Ministers of Communications and Information Technology in Congo and Gabon. The meeting aimed at building cooperation for developing the infrastructure of the communications and information technology sector and linking African countries to Europe by allowing submarine cables to pass through Egyptian territories, given Egypt has a strategic geographical site, which makes it strongly eligible to play a prominent role in this regard.
