Egyptian Petroleum Minister Tarek al-Molla has chaired the second meeting of the Executive Committee of the 6th edition of Egypt Petroleum Show, EGYPS 2023.
The committee’s meeting witnessed a ministerial presence, along with the attendance of the chairmen of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), national oil companies (NOCs), and international oil companies (IOCs) operating in Egypt.
The meeting reviewed the preparations for the 6th edition of this annual edition, entitled “North Africa and The Mediterranean: Supporting Sustainable Global Energy Supply and Demand”, which will take place under the auspices of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi from February 13 to 15, 2023.
Petroleum Minister al-Molla stressed the importance of EGYPS, the largest oil and gas event ever in Egypt. EGYPS has been of great significance regionally and internationally after the five previous editions, which were hailed as a success.
The minister highlighted that the next edition would be a prominent platform bringing together the C-suite officials of international energy companies. They will discuss the remarkable outcomes and the initiatives introduced on the Decarbonisation Day that was a success on the sidelines of COP27, which Egypt recently hosted in Sharm El-Sheikh.
EGYPS should sustain the momentum gained since the Decarbonisation Day and COP27 to aptly support the oil and gas industry in its journey to achieve sustainable development goals, energy transformation, and decarbonization, al-Molla added.
During the next edition, the strategic conference will address three pillars; geopolitics and global economies, the next generation of oil, gas, and energy ecosystems, as well as energy transition and energy solutions. The sustainability in Energy Conference will be held for the first time in EGYPS, in addition to Finance and Investment in Energy conference, and the Equality in Energy Conference. The technical conference will host 180 speakers over three days to confer about 19 issues. Two award ceremonies will take place during EGYPS: The global Equality in Energy Award Ceremony, recognising the winners per three award categories, and Sustainability in Energy Award Ceremony, recognising the winners in five award categories.
