Egypt is on track to meet its target of welcoming 15 million tourists in 2023 despite the ongoing attack on Gaza, Minister of Tourism Ahmed Issa told Reuters on Monday.
The minister said that the fallout in the country’s tourism since the beginning of the attacks has been contained to less than ten percent of the total bookings.
Issa added that the country is set to offer an additional $500 incentive per flight landing in Sharm El-Sheikh.
The number of tourists climbed by seven percent year on year (YoY) in the first ten months of 2023.
According to Issa, the highest tourist arrivals were from Germany and China.
