Egypt, Ireland discuss ways of cooperation in ICT sector

In a meeting with Damien Cole, Ireland’s Ambassador to Egypt, Minister of communications Yasser El-Kady discussed on Wednesday ways of cooperation between Egypt and Ireland in the ICT sector.

The two parties discussed opportunities of possible partnerships in outsourcing and IT services exporting.

El-Kady reviewed his ministry’s priorities at that time, including establishing new technology parks in a number of the country’s governorates, boosting electronics industry in Egypt, and launching 4G mobile services.

In addition, El-Kady showcased what have been accomplished so far in Borg El Arab and New Asyut technology parks project.

On his Part, the Irish Ambassador paid a visit to Smart Village in Egypt where he visited headquarters of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA).

The Irish ambassador hailed Egypt’s efforts in ICT sector and was highly impressed with smart cities as well as the good investment environment Egypt provides to both local and global companies.

Leading the tour, Asmaa Hosny, CEO of ITIDA highlighted the agency’s efforts in support of technological innovation and intellectual property rights protection.
