Represented by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), Egypt will host two conferences on cybersecurity in Sharm El-Sheikh. The Fifth Regional Cybersecurity Summit will be held on October 30- November 1, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Regional Cybersecurity Centre (RCC).
This event will be followed by the FIRST Regional Symposium for Arab and African Regions under the auspices of the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), for two days on November 2-3.
This year’s Summit is under the theme: “Boundless Collaboration, Boundless Protection”, aiming to enhance cooperation and address regional and global challenges in the field of cybersecurity. It focuses on the cooperation in cybersecurity as one of key pillars to tackle the main challenges of today’s cyber threats.
The FIRST Regional Symposium will be an open forum for ICT professionals and decision makers in government, industry, academia and NGOs to discuss their ideas for improving cybersecurity in Arab and African regions.
The two conferences will attract over 300 senior ICT and cybersecurity officials from the Arab and African regions to discuss, formulate strategic directions and plans to tackle emerging threats to the global and regional information security sector. They provide a platform to network with well-known organizations such as ITU, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Computer Emergency Response Team (OIC-CERT), FIRST, Africa CERT and the Arab ICT Organization (AICTO) and other decision makers and government authorities from more than 77 countries.
