Egypt’s Health Ministry is seeking to obtain a US$200 million loan from the World Bank Group, assistant minister for the financial affairs, Mohamed Mait announced Saturday.

Speaking to Amwal Al Ghad on Saturday, Mait stated that his ministry is currently holding several meetings with World Bank’s officials to agree on the final form of the loan and the targeted projects.

The Egyptian Ministry of Health’s strategy for the coming phase includes plans to increase the number of the emergency and critical care units in several hospitals nationwide, the ministry official noted.

There are also plans to expand into securing various health services in Upper Egyptian governorates.
