by Mennatullah Hamzawy

Egypt has supplied Zambia with pharmaceutical supplies valuing $24 million, according to a statement by the Egyptian Cabinet on Tuesday.

The step comes as part of Egypt’s objective to increase medical exports in the African markets, said chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Purchasing (UPA), Bahaa El-Din Zidan.

Egypt’s pharmaceutical market was ranked the first in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region in 2023, with a value of $56.6 billion.

Pharmaceutical and medical exports are assumed to rise to $5 billion by 2030 from $964 million in 2022.
