Egyptians deposited around 3.569 trillion Egyptian pounds ($199.5 billion) in the local banking system in financial year 2017-2018 that ended on June 30, central bank data showed on Sunday.
Earlier, deposits stood at 3.042 trillion pounds at the end of June 2017.
Total loans secured by banks in Egypt hiked to 1.53 trillion pounds at the end of March, compared to 1.45 trillion pounds at the end of December 2017, the central bank added.
