Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology announced Tuesday a decision to postpone its project to develop a technology park at the 10th of Ramadan City until further notice.
Sources in the MCIT attributed the postponement to the ministry’s participation in another project namely City of Knowledge which will locate in the country’s anticipated new administrative capital.
The ministry has not given up on the10th of Ramadan City Technology Park project but rather decided to postpone it, the sources told Amwal Al Ghad.
Sources estimated the costs of establishing new administrative capital’s infrastructure, which includes telecoms and internet cables, at 3 billion Egyptian pounds ($337.8 million) including all phases of establishment.
Sources added that Ministry of Housing is collaborating with MCIT and the Armed Forces Engineering Authority to provide the new administrative capital with internet connections of 1 Tera byte speed while all housing units will be connected at 100 mega bytes speed.
