Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has contracted with the American McCann Company to implement a promotional campaign for Egypt, according to ministry’s statement on Friday.

The campaign will launch in the last quarter of 2022, coinciding with the Ministry’s organising number of important events, including the celebration of World Tourism Day September 27, Tourism Authority’s CEO Amr El-Kaady said.

El-Kady explained that McCann will implement number of plans through various promotion mechanisms and creative ideas.

Moreover, the company will also prepare the advertising materials and publications on social media platforms and various websites.

The campaign will also include holding promotional events in Egypt and abroad, producing advertising materials for all visual, print, audio and electronic media.

McCann will purchase advertising space on various media outlets in different markets such as television, press, electronic means, and road advertisements, according to the statement.

World Tourism Day is the 200th anniversary of the deciphering of ancient Egyptian writing and the emergence of Egyptology.

This step came in light of the new media strategy to promote tourism to Egypt, which prepared by an English-Canadian alliance during 2021.

McCann had selected after a competition between many local and international advertising agencies that based on the creative proposals submitted by the companies.

The company founded in the United States of America 110 years ago and is a member of the IPG Holding International for Marketing and Media Services.

It has 300 offices in more than 120 countries around the world and employs more than 20,000 advertising professionals.
