Egypt completes 221 social housing buildings in New Beni Suef

Egypt had completed 221 residential buildings in New Beni Suef City, 124km (77 miles) far from Cairo, within the final phase of the state’s social housing project, an official said on Thursday.

The buildings’ cost is estimated at 700 million Egyptian pounds ($39.1 million), New Beni Suef Development Authority’s head Ashraf Fathy further added.

“We had launched 1,800 land plots for citizens in the city, with spaces ranging between 209 square metres and 276 square metres,” Fathy said.

He said the country had finalised carrying out the first and second phases of a sewage treatment plant over 22 feddans in New Beni Seuf, with costs exceeding 100 million pounds with a capacity of 26,000 cubic metres per day.

Spanning over 25,000 feddans, New Beni Suef Development Authority invested 2.7 billion pounds in the city; 1.6 billion pounds for unities, 71.5 million pounds for agriculture, 216.7 million pounds for services, and 804.6 million pounds for housing.
