Trade exchange between Egypt and the members of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) grew by 19.1 percent year-on-year (YoY) to $3.9 billion in 2019 from $3.2 billion, according to the Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry, Nevine Gamea
Egypt’s exports to COMESA members rose by 22.5 percent to $2.8 billion last year from $2.3 billion in 2018, Gamea said.
In her virtual meeting with the Secretary General of COMESA, Chileshe Kapwepwe, Gamea stressed on the importance of signing the free trade agreement between the three African trade blocs.
