Egypt, Chad Eye Further Cooperation

by Yomna Yasser

Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab had talks Friday with his Chadian counterpart Kalzeubet Pahimi Deubet on means of promoting bilateral relations in the investment, agriculture and petroleum fields.

Delegations from both countries attended the meeting as the housing and agriculture ministers discussed in detail bolstering cooperation.

The two premiers had discussions on how Egyptian companies can contribute to the development and infrastructure of Chad.

Mahlab, who is currently in a visit to Chad’s capital N’Djamena, told an accompanying press delegation that there will be a cooperation between Egypt, Chad and other African countries to counter terrorist thought and stand up to extremist groups.

He termed his visit to Chad, the first stop of his African tour, as “extremely important.”
