Egypt’s bourse gained 1.1 billion Egyptian pounds during midday trade on Monday backed by local and Arab investors’ buying appetite. Yet, the country’s main stock index, EGX30 retreated below 9420 points.
Meanwhile, the EGX indices were wavering in mixed notes during the midday session of Monday.
Indices
The Benchmark EGX30 dipped by 0.09% to 9418.79 p, and EGX20 went down by 0.15% to 11193.89 p.
In the contrary, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 grew by 0.65% to 622.19 p. Yet, the Price index EGX100 rose by 0.40% to 1124.71 p.
Furthermore, market capitalization reached EGP 517.536 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English at 13:13 p.m. Cairo time (10:13 GMT).
Trading Volumes & Values
The trading volume has recorded 60.108 million securities worth EGP 393.562 million, exchanged through 11.077 transactions during Monday midday.
Also during the midday session, 159 listed securities have been traded in; 40 fell, 76 advanced; while 37 keeping their previous levels.
Investors’ Activities
Local and Arab investors were net buyers at midday trade capturing 76.89% and 4.92% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 3.302 million and EGP 1.661 million, excluding the deals.
On the other hand, the non-Arab foreign investors were net sellers seizing 18.19% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 4.964 million, excluding the deals.
