Dr. Mohamed Omran, the Egyptian Exchange’s Chairman, joined on Sunday the Committee for drafting the National Strategy for Financial Literacy in Egypt.
The Committee is initiated within the framework of the Egyptian Banking Institute EBI to spread financial literacy among various segments of Egyptian society in order to make them familiar with both the banking systems and non banking system services. This is through the development of a national strategy adopted by all economic institutions in Egypt to increase the Egyptian citizens’ awareness about the economy and the financial institutions. This is through review of the experiences of many of the emerging economies in different parts of the world.
The Committee gathers in its membership all of: Dr. Mona ElBaradei, executive director of Egyptian banking Institute EBI, Sherif Samy, Chairman of the Egyptian Financial Services Authority EFSA, Dr. Hala Al-Said Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science FEPS, Mai Abu Naga regulations department head in the Central Bank of Egypt, Hamed Hamed, Executive Director of Egypt Post, Mehrechane Nayel, Microfinance Advisor of GIZ “Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit”, Johannes Majewski, program coordinator of GIZ “Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit”, Sameh Solaiman, General Manager of International in Egypt Post and Ahmed Abdel-Raouf, head of the Capital sector in Egypt Post.
