During Tuesday closing session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has turned its midday losses to gains of EGP 131 million as the capital market has amounted to EGP 392.836 million.
The EGX indices closed mixed.
The main index, EGX30 fell by 0.37% to end at 5700.2 p. EGX20 dipped by 0.11% to close at 6675.06 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 rose by 0.93% to conclude at 531.91 pts. Price index EGX100 inched higher by 0.33% to finish at 874.94 p.
Traded volume reached 102.742 million securities worth EGP 379.819 million, exchanged 22.686 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 165 listed securities; 42 declined 100 advanced while 23 keeping their previous levels.
EGX’s closing gains were backed by Egyptians’ buying deals.
Egyptians were net buyers seizing 80.89% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 38.255 million excluding the deals.
On the other hand, Arabs and non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 6.92% and 12.19% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 3.427 million and EGP 34.828 million excluding the deals.
Leading Shares:
EGX’s leading shares witnessed unsteady performance.
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding:
Trading has been suspended for Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA)’s stock witnessed no change to finish at EGP 0.59.
LINKonLINE, a subsidiary of Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA), announced the acquisition of Arabia.com on Monday.
Upon this acquisition, LINKonLINE will be able to support the portal’s Arabic content through focusing on exclusive and diverse content – from sport to technology, autos news and leisure.
Orascom Telecom Holding:
Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) stock witnessed no change to end at EGP 3.75.
Orascom announced on Sunday changing its name to Global Telecom Holding SAE after Vimpelcom took control of the Egyptian company last year in a deal worth around $6 billion.
EFG-Hermes:
EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) went up by 0.93% to hit EGP 11.90.
Citadel Capital:
Citadel Capital (CCAP.CA)’s stock rose by 0.74% to reach EGP 4.10.
Orascom Construction Industries:
Orascom Construction Industries – OCI (OCIC.CA)’s stock pushed down by 1.49% to hit EGP 259.33.
