During Wednesday closing, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) had posted gains of 838 million as the capital market has reached EGP 306.858 billion.
The main index, EGX30 rebounded 0.51% to close at 4108.4 p. EGX20 went up 0.44% to finish at 4637.8 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 inched lower 0.10% to end at 377.61 p. Price index EGX100 edged down 0.21% to conclude at 642.22 p.
Traded volume reached 72.894 million securities worth EGP 237.995 million, exchanged through 13.284 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 170 listed securities; 65 declined and 88 advanced while 17 keeping their previous levels.
Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers seizing 54.9% and 17.02% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 7.420 million and EGP 16.022 million excluding the deals.
The non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 28.08% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 23.442 million excluding the deals
EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective upwards led by shares of Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) which climbed 2.34% to reach EGP 1.31. Shares owned by Commercial International Bank- Egypt (CIB) (COMI.CA) soared 1.49% to hit EGP 22.43. Shares of Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) inched higher 0.37% to hit EGP 2.68.
Additionally, shares owned by Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) surged 0.22% to hit EGP 219.68. Shares of EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) went up 0.11% to reach EGP 9.19.
