The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Wednesday’s trading session up on the back of local buying.
By 10:20 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 43.93 points, or 0.28 percent, to 15,982 points.
The EGX70 index inched up 0.01 percent to 798.58 points, and the EGX100 index levelled up 0.04 percent to 2,036 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index added 0.29 percent to 2,686 points.
Trading volume on stocks amounted to around 16.6 million shares exchanged at a turnover of 146.13 million pounds through 1,450 transactions.
Egyptian investors were net buyers with 7.2 million pounds, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with 5.7 million pounds and 2.07 million pounds, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) slid 0.42 percent to 84.5 pounds.
