The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) had on Tuesday closing posted gains of EGP 2.65 billion as the capital market has reached EGP 323.377 billion.
The main index, EGX30 jumped 1.24% to close at 4448.84 p. EGX20 climbed 2.12% to end at 5023.94 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 went up 1.15 % to hit 396.13 p. Price index EGX100 edged up 0.62% to reach 687.64 p.
Traded volume reached 49.643 million securities worth EGP 173.821 million, exchanged through 14.005 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 152 listed securities; 18 declined and 119 advanced while 15 keeping their previous levels.
Egyptians and non-Arab Foreigners were net buyers seizing 73.7% and 19.56% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 1.711 million and EGP 4.901 million excluding the deals.
On the other hand, Arabs were net sellers seizing 6.74% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 6.612 million excluding the deals.
EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective rise led by the shares of Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) which soared 9.32% closing at EGP 1.29. Shares owned by Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) climbed 2.40% ending at EGP 2.99. . Shares of EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) surged 1.80% concluding at EGP 10.18.
Shares of Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) went up 0.63% closing at 245.77. Shares of Commercial International Bank- Egypt (COMI.CA) inched higher 0.42% ending at EGP 24.12.
