EGX went on posting gains of L.E 877 million during Monday’s midday trading, as the capital market reached L.E 259.233 billion.
The main index, EGX 30 went up 0.73% to reach 4983.67 p. EGX20 surged 0.38% to reach 5730.35 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 also rose 0.12% to reach 442.62 p. Price index EGX100 upped 0.42% to close at 780.42 p.
The market has recorded values of L.E 144.466 million; while the volume traded reached 33.098 million securities executed over 7.953 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 138 listed securities; 73 up and 42 down while 23 keeping their previous levels.
The main reason for the EGX30’s rise is that the non-Arab Foreigners were net buyers seizing 30.82% of the total market, with a net equity of L.E 3.668 million, after excluding deals.
Arab investors were net sellers seizing 2.48% of the total market, with a net equity of L.E 2.881 million, after excluding deals.
Additionally, Egyptians were also net sellers seizing 66.7% of the total market, with net equity of L.E 786.917 thousand, after excluding deals.
The EGX’s leading shares have recorded unsteady readings. The shares owned by the Commercial International Bank- Egypt (COMI) rose 2.21% to reach L.E 25.90. Shares of Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC) hiked 1.53% to reach L.E 259.21. Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT)’s shares edged up by 0.71% to reach L.E 1.42.
On the other hand, Shares owned by EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO) went down by 0.23% to reach L.E 13.28. Shares of Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE) remained with no change to close L.E 3.92.
