During Monday opening session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has posted early gains of EGP 2.85 billion as the capital market has amounted to EGP 400.760 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad at 10:55 a.m. Cairo time (08:55 GMT). The EGX resumes trading on the fourth day of Eid Al-Adha.
EGX indices opened green.
The main index, EGX30 climbed by 1.16% to hit 5860.1 p. EGX20 surged by 1% to reach 6858.76 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 rose by 0.18% to hit 542.49 pts. Price index EGX100 pushed up by 0.64% to reach 895.15 p.
Traded volume reached 24.823 million securities worth EGP 42.631 million, exchanged through 1.500 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 79 listed securities; 5 declined 56 advanced while 18 keeping their previous levels.
EGX’s early gains were backed by Arabs’ buying transactions.
Egyptians and non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 71.46% and 14.68% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 9.100 million and EGP 286.416 thousand excluding the deals.
On the other hand, Arabs were net buyers seizing 13.86% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 9.386 million excluding the deals.
Leading Shares:
EGX’s leading shares witnessed early upwards.
Orascom Construction Industries:
Orascom Construction Industries – OCI (OCIC.CA)’s stock climbed by 2.61% to hit EGP 270.00.
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding:
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA)’s stock soared by 1.61% to hit EGP 0.63.
Orascom Telecom Holding:
Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) rose by 0.80% to hit EGP 3.78.
EFG-Hermes:
EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) went up by 0.25% to hit EGP 12.10.
Citadel Capital:
Citadel Capital (CCAP.CA)’s stock pushed up by 0.24% to reach EGP 4.20.
