During Thursday closing session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has turned its early gains into losses of EGP 977 million as the capital market has amounted to EGP 398.054 million.

The main index, EGX30 slumped by 0.31% to end at 5803 p. EGX20 went down by 0.22% to close at 6782.38 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 fell by 0.96% to conclude at 533.34 pts. Price index EGX100 inched lower by 0.81% to finish at 883.51 p.
Traded volume reached 218.995 million securities worth EGP 579.281 million, exchanged 29.602 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 176 listed securities; 100 declined 56 advanced while 20 keeping their previous levels.
EGX’s losses were due to Egyptians’ selling pressures.
Egyptians were net sellers seizing 79.77% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 14.220 million excluding the deals.
On the other hand, Arabs and non-Arab Foreigners were net buyers seizing 6.6% and 13.63% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 4.850 million and EGP 9.370 million excluding the deals.
Leading Shares:
EGX’s leading shares witnessed unsteady performance during the closing.
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding:
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) droppe by 1.64% to end at EGP 0.60.
EFG-Hermes:
EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) pushed down by 0.98% to finish at EGP 12.13.
Orascom Construction Industries:
Orascom Construction Industries – OCI (OCIC.CA)’s stock dipped by 0.96% to end at EGP 268.49.
Citadel Capital:
Citadel Capital (CCAP.CA)’s stock went down by 0.95% to close at EGP 4.16.
Orascom Telecom Holding:
Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) inched lower by 0.81% to conclude at EGP 3.74.
