The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has ended this week posting gains of around EGP 2 billion during Thursday’s closing session. The capital market has amounted to EGP 373.913 billion.
The main index, EGX30 edged up by 0.43% to end at 5443 p. EGX20 rose by 0.59% to close at 6292.82 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 climbed by 1.62% to conclude at 487.69 pts. Price index EGX100 surged by 0.94% to finish at 810 p.
Traded volume reached 184.974 million securities worth EGP 589.612 million, exchanged 31.370 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 177 listed securities; 29 declined, 124 advanced; while 24 keeping their previous levels.
The EGX’s closing gains were driven by the buying transactions of Arabs and the non-Arab foreigners as they were net buyers seizing 7.63% and 12.79% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 8.265 million and EGP 117.895 thousand excluding the deals.
Meanwhile, Egyptians were net sellers seizing 79.58% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 8.383 million excluding the deals.
