Economic Commission to Review Egypt’s Integrated License on Cabinet Next Thursday

Eng. Atef Helmy Egyptian Telecom Minister has offered during the meeting of the Cabinet’s economic commission the main features for developing the telecommunication services and to apply the regulatory framework for integrated operator license.

The economic commission approved to refer the project to be presented on the Cabinet by the next of Thursday.

Helmy asserted that the importance of the project comes to meet with all the rapid changes in communication technology, especially the Internet and data services and it will allow implementing the new techniques of mobile phone four generation G4 along with the expected boost in the internet across the Middle East as well as motivating more domestic and foreign  investments to enter the Egyptian market.

The board of directors of the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) decided to approve the unified integrated operator license as a regulatory solution which will pave the way to attain the required growth and balance in the Egyptian Telecommunication market.

Helmy noted that the market needs strong infrastructure that will enable the main operators to provide services for all the citizens and the country’s sectors.
