A Bahraini royal has been detained before takeoff at London’s Heathrow Airport on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly, a report says.
According to a July 29 report published by the British Sun newspaper, the 28-year-old billionaire complained to the captain about “poor” service before the British Airways plane took off from Heathrow to Bahrain.
The crew members called the police, who used stun guns to arrest the prince after he refused to calm down.
A spokesman for the British Airways confirmed that a customer “was off-loaded from the London to Bahrain service” and appeared to be “intoxicated.”
In addition, Scotland Yard said a man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.
The royal is said to be a close relative of Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Police took his DNA, mugshot and fingerprints before he was released on bail.
