Arab countries have vast opportunity for cooperation in the fields of digital economy and transformation, said Ali El-Khoury, head of Arab Federation for the Digital Economy and Council of Arab Economic Unity (CAEU) advisor, on Sunday.
Many international mutual funds are investing in the fields of technology in the Arab world, as well as huge opportunities for inter-Arab investments in the digital economy infrastructure, El-Khoury said at the First Arab Digital Economy conference in Abu Dhabi.
He further said the conference would highlight the vast economic opportunities available for Arab countries, as a result of their digital transformation.
Moreover, the conference is a new platform to design a map of investment strategy and policy formulation and development of technologies, through the adoption of the restructuring of processes, products and services using digital technology, El-Khoury said.
It aims to present the axes of the joint Arab strategy for the digital economy that support sustainable development and investments in technological projects and infrastructure in the Arab world, he added.
“We have great demographic dividend that obliges us to invest in the infrastructure of the digital economy to enhance their capacities and promote their innovations.”, El-Khoury said.
